Hanukkah Sameach! Chag Urim Sameach!
Happy Festival of Lights!
Hanukkah celebrates the miracle of lights and re-dedication of the Holy Temple in Jerusalem. After Judah the Maccabee chased the Seleucids from Israel during the 2nd century BC, his band found only one vessel of oil suitable for lighting the Temple's menorah. This single vessel miraculously lasted 8 days, until a new supply of holy oil could be obtained. Today, Hanukkah is celebrated by the ritual lighting of candles over eight days (along with special prayers), playing with a four-sided top called a dreidel, eating fried foods, and exchanging small gifts.
Between Rosh Hashanah and Hanukkah, we receive a great demand for kosher certified honey. ALL of our honey is certified kosher by Star-K. You can read more about kosher honey certification HERE.
