Echinacea Honey
![]() Echinacea is part of the daisy family, being related to ragweed, chrysanthemums, marigolds, and daisies. It is grown both for its ornamental properties, as well as for?its large demand as a medicinal herb. Echinacea typically remains in the field for three years. Three products are obtained from the plant: the seeds are in large demand, and can be collected on the second and third years. The leaves and stems can be collected at the same time and sold to pharmaceutical manufacturers. The roots are the final crop, and are harvested in the final year. The echinacea plant is used as a herbal supplement to lessen the severity and duration of?colds and flus. We get many questions regarding our Echinacea Honey with regards to medicinal properties of the honey. We emphasize that medicinal properties of honey have not been adequately tested, and the FDA has not approved any medicinal statements. However, we sell the bulk of our Echinacea Honey during the winter months! | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
