Fireweed Honey

We have heard two stories about how Fireweed derived its name. The first was that when Fireweed blooms it looks like a valley on fire! The second is that Fireweed is one of the first plants to grow in areas that have been scarred by fire.

Fireweed is the floral emblem of the Yukon, and some natives say that you can tell how hard the winter will be by how high the plant blooms. Growing in the Northern and Pacific States and Canada, the plant reaches up to 5 feet high!

This honey is light in color, with a nice buttery taste. We recommend Fireweed Honey as a wonderful table honey.
