Decadent Chocolate Honey Fondue

Click Here for a printer-friendly version of this page.

This quick and easy recipe produces a rich dark chocolate fondue that tastes good on anything.  Heck, I can get my kids to eat veggies without complaint, if they are allowed to dip them in this decadent chocolate honey fondue first!

If you add more milk or cream, this recipe becomes like a sauce, and can be poured over ice cream.  If less milk is added, it is more like a fondue, and can be used for dips or icing.

For an even more decadent variation, try adding 2-3 tablespoons of amaretto, grand marnier, or bailey's after removing from heat!

I'm as picky about my honey as I am about my chocolate!  I prefer Wild Foam Honey, with its marshmallow taste.  When available, I REALLY prefer Meadowfoam Honey (because it is THAT special!).  Any of the berry honeys would work as well, such as Cranberry Honey, or Raspberry Honey.

For a festive gift, place in a tightly-wrapped decorative container!

Ingredients

  • 2 bars (8 ounce total) German sweet chocolate, coarsely chopped
  • 4 squares (4 ounce total) unsweetened chocolate
  • 1 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream

Directions

  1. Melt all ingredients together in the top of a double boiler over medium-high heat, stirring frequently. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

Can be stored in fridge, tightly covered, for up to 1 month.
