I have bought several sets of these candles both online and at the Maryland RenFest, and they are incredible. Most of them I don't burn because they just look so darn good hanging on my wall! I have a Japanese style hanging scroll which has a wooden dowel at the bottom, and when I first bought these, I hung one pair each on the dowel, and they just looked so nice I had to buy more in order to burn them! The ones I have are at least 10 years old now, and while they developed a bit of white coloration probably from the beeswax getting too hot, they will still burn. They also don't break easily like other taper candles. I'm from a military family, and we've moved at least 5 times, and most of my other tapers get the ends broken off. Furthermore, I tried to make my own dipped candles once. It takes a REALLY LONG TIME! These tapers aren't skinny either, They are about 3/4 inch wide at the bottom, and about 1/2 inch wide at the top. (measured about 1/2 inch down from where the string starts)
